Compostela’s government reviews two years in office

This Monday, I had the opportunity to attend an informal press meeting organised by the Santiago City Council at the Pazo de Raxoi, marking the second anniversary of the current term of office, held by BNG and Compostela Aberta. The event brought together several local media outlets in a more relaxed format than usual, where Mayor Goretti Sanmartín and Deputy Mayor María Rozas reviewed the achievements of the first two years and outlined their goals for the rest of the term.

The meeting took place on the terrace of the Pazo de Raxoi, currently under renovation, and was attended by the entire municipal executive. The speakers looked back on policies already implemented —such as the tourist tax, the moratorium on new tourist businesses, or the reduction in holiday rentals— and also presented upcoming initiatives, such as the FAI Horizonte Compostela project or the revision of the Special Use Plan to limit the proliferation of souvenir shops in the historic centre.
