Hello!
My name is David M. Sobrino Platas, and I am a journalist trained at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where I completed a degree in Journalism and a Master’s in Multimedia Communication. I have been working for several years at the intersection of digital press, podcasting, and cultural communication, with a special focus on projects that highlight the Galician language, heritage, and current social issues.
I am currently involved in several projects, producing news and current affairs content. I take care of writing news and original reports, editing front page content, and distributing it across social media. At the same time, I work as a journalist, podcast producer, and communications officer for various entities and cultural initiatives, such as Xornal de Compostela —which I coordinate—, Neofalantes, Historia de Galicia, and the institutional communication of the Ateneo de Santiago, where I am also in charge of its podcast project, Radio Ateneo Podcast.
I am proficient in tools such as Audacity, Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign, WordPress, Tableau, and Blender, and I have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Python. I work fluently with both Windows and Linux, and I can produce content in Galician, Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese. I am also a member of the IFJ Global Group of Young Media Workers, where I serve as the European delegate.
I understand journalism as a space of responsibility, memory, and innovation, where communication should serve the public. I want to keep creating content that informs, moves, and connects.
